Project description
This Madison Residence is a 9,500 sq ft, two-story custom home defined by its complex geometry and high-performance building systems. The project required an advanced, coordinated approach to deliver a structurally sound and efficient solution under demanding design and environmental conditions.
KSI Steel collaborated closely with ZS2 Technologies to integrate Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) framing with magnesium-based SIP panels, developing a fully panelized hybrid system. Working remotely from multiple locations, both teams relied heavily on BIM coordination to align their respective systems, ensuring precise dimensional compatibility between prefabricated components and on-site structural elements.
Key Project Highlights:
-
Hybrid Panelized System, the integration of CFS framing with MGO SIP panels created a high-performance envelope tailored to meet structural and environmental demands.
-
Advanced BIM Coordination, extensive cross-team collaboration and 3D model alignment were required to resolve complex geometry and ensure seamless system integration across different manufacturers.
-
Complex Design & Climate Considerations, the residence’s intricate layout and roof design, combined with snow load requirements and harsh weather conditions, demanded careful planning, structural precision, and coordinated delivery scheduling.
